CHASING FOOD DREAMS: T@ste6, Swiss-Garden Hotel & Residences Kuala Lumpur: An European BBQ Buffet Promotion!

Just a few days before the end of the year, I managed to check out a new buffet themed European BBQ Buffet at T@ste6, Swiss-Garden Hotel & Residences Kuala Lumpur with some foodies!

No longer a stranger, I always love the ambience at T@ste6! The spacious and openness on the level six of Swiss-Garden Residences is very mesmerizing and one can have a great view of the bustling city from the open roof top. One can choose to dine al fresco or in the comfort of air-conditioning in the contemporary dining room.

I love buffets… who doesn’t? I love them for varieties and not quantities. I also happen to like BBQ a lot, therefore with this great combination, I was certainly happy to savor this buffet with my friends. Most buffets tend to be international with a bit of everything but this one is a little different. It focuses more on grilled items and features a decent selection of quality dishes.

Right away, I spied a BBQ station where hot coals are gently cooking a lovely variety of meats and seafood. Platters of fresh seafood and meats are just utterly begging to be grill and savor. There is also a row of delectable looking sauces such as Chermula, Chimichuri, Harissa, Thai, Mongolian and more.

A huge platter of vegetables and two big bowls of beef are sitting nicely alongside the Mongolian Station waiting to be selected for the Mongolian stir fry. One can also select the sauces for the stir fry. Butter, garlic and soy sauce is a must for me whenever I savor Mongolian stir fry!

A little patience and I saw the final products of the grill station… aren’t this a sight to behold? J

The aroma of all the grilled seafood and meat was intoxicating and that is precisely why I love BBQ… the smoky aroma and char grill flavors are very addictive for me. Prawns were juicy, sweet and very fresh while the chicken and fish had good flavors from the marinade.

Besides the main stations, there is also a Salad Bar filled with Potato Salad, Fruit Salad, Salmon Salad and more. The soup of the day was a Cauliflower Soup, a creamy thick puree of cauliflower. Something warm for the tummy…

There is also a row of buffet warmers holding an array of goodies like Roast Beef, Spaghetti Aglio Olio, Seafood Paella, Chicken Balls and more. I had relished the paella before and it is still as delicious as before. I had two helpings of the paella studded with mussels and prawns. Roast beef was fairly tender but I wish they would only cut it when needed as the sliced beef tends to dry out if left too long. I also appreciated the Baked Potato Wedges alongside the grilled items.

Dessert bar had a few simple desserts like Cheesecake, Crème Caramel, Fruit Cakes and Fresh Fruits! A basic selection but I was so stuffed from the scrumptious grilled items that I barely had any room for desserts… J

I enjoyed that night as food quality were good and the overall taste was lovely. There is a decent selection of fresh seafood and meats that one can enjoy while there is also a little bit of hot cooked dishes and salad bar to fill me up. Even my foodie friends enjoyed the buffet of grilled items a lot! Here comes the best part of this meal… someone else does the work and the clean up while I enjoy the BBQ… wink!!
