Jom Buka Puasa ala 1001 Rasa Selera Kampung!

My second Buka Puasa feast landed in Swez Brasserie at Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya this year. For this holy month, Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya is proud to showcase their 1001 Rasa Selera Kampung as part of its fasting month specials.

This year, Executive Chef Alex Leong with his kitchen team has whipped up more than 200 varieties of authentic Malay traditional favorites together with international favorites for the 1001 Rasa Selera Kampung buffet dinner. We had a sneak peak at some of the sumptuous Malay dishes together with a show stopper of King of Fruits. Here’s what you can expect when you break fast at Swez Brasserie this Ramadhan 2014.

A must-have in every buka puasa, whole lamb beautifully roasted with spices and herbs. Swez Brasserie presents their Kuzi Roasted Lamb with Arab Rice with tender slices of moist lamb scented with spices and herbs. Move on to a spread of Ikan Bakar with Pari Panggang taking hotspot. Marinated in spices and wrapped with banana leaves, the Pari Panggang is grilled to yummy satisfaction. Don’t forget to enjoy this with Sambal Kicap or Sambal Asam Jawa…

Ulams and Sambals are a great way to whet the appetites. Feast on assorted Kerabu, Salads, Buah Kurma, Lemang, Ketupat, Serundings, Buah Jeruk and more to get the feast started. We also enjoyed some Thai dishes like Mieng Kam, Som Tam, Larb and Catfish Mango Salad which is so delicious.

Moving to main dishes of Malay cuisine, diners can expect local favorites like Ikan Patin Masak Lemak Tempoyak, Daging Salai Bercili, Sotong Sumbat Pulut, Pais Ketam Bunga, Udang Sambal Petai, Kari Kepala Ikan, Ikan Goreng Masam Manis, Percik Ayam, Daging and Kambing and more.

Of course there are more dishes on the actual feast but with all said, make sure to save room for King of Fruits, the Durian buffet which is also part of the 1001 Rasa Selera Kampung feast. Savor unlimited durians or the spread of durian treats like Durian Cream Puff, Baked Durian Cheese Cake, Durian Paradise (Crepe Cake), Durian Cream Brulee, Durian Swiss Roll, Bubur Durian, Durian Goreng and more. The Durian buffet will be stationed by the poolside on Level 2 of the hotel.
