3D2N Staycation in Style and Comfort
Over
one weekend, my family and I took a short staycation to check out Four Points by Sheraton Puchong. It’s my first time staying
under this brand and I have to say that I am very pleased with what the hotel
has to offer.
We
checked in late Friday after work hours and it was pouring heavily that
evening. Traffic was a mess but we were really looking forward to our weekend
getaway for a change. As I have always mentioned, sometimes a nice local
getaway is perfect as one can have a nice and short break without breaking the
bank.
Four Points by Sheraton Puchong
is also part of the Starwood Preferred
Guest (SPG) so members of SPG gets the best rate as well as Star Points. If
you are not a SPG member yet, do join as it is free membership.
The
hotel is easily spotted as it is strategically located in Puchong along the
main highway. Whether one is on travelling for leisure or business, the 249-room
hotel is a great place and value-for-money hotel to stay at. Read on for my
experience at our 3D2N staycation…
We
arrived around dinner time and was literally famished. A quick check-in and we
headed straight for dinner at hotel’s signature restaurant, The Eatery. Since it was Friday, it was
a Seafood & Barbeque Dinner Buffet.
Feast
on a kaleidoscope of succulent treats of Seafood on Ice, Chinese and Western
seafood dishes, Barbeque Steak, Chicken, Lamb and Seafood, Satay, Curry Fish,
Dim Sum, Noodles, Pizza and more. The Curry Fish was particularly superb in my
books as the spices are well balance and it has such a luscious creamy and
robust note that I actually went back for a second helping. More in my next food post...
After
our dinner, we headed up to our Deluxe
Room with King Bed. The room was warmly lit and was inviting. It was
actually nicely spacious and there was even lots of room if one were to add an
additional bed. I like the warm neutrals of the theme colors of the room with
subtle hints of colors.
All
Four Points rooms are fitted with the Four
Points by Sheraton Four Comfort™ signature bed with plush mattress, down
pillows and comfortable sheets and duvet. The bed is utterly comfortable and we
all slept so well the two nights we were there. Even in the morning, my little
one and I didn’t really want to leave our bed. Firm and yet plush, I slept so
well and woke up to a very relaxed posture.
On
another note, I actually went to Penang a few weeks later and stayed at Four Points by Sheraton Penang because I was really like the
bed. The Penang was even better because it also boasted a beautiful ocean view
but that would be another story… wink!
Our
room has the usual amenities such as a 40” LED flat screen television,
complimentary high speed WIFI Internet access and spacious work desk with all
the usual trimmings. There was also a lovely full basket of fruits.
Over
to the little mini bar area, there is the usual mini fridge completed with
coffee and tea amenities and complimentary water. There was also a French Press
coffee maker!
By
the doorway area, a full length mirror is available on the wardrobe door. There
were fluffy bathrobes, iron and ironing board, mini safe and laundry services
bag.
The
bathroom was also spacious and well designed to equip a glass shower room
fitted with rain shower as well as the usual shower head. Four Points is
environmentally friendly and provides bath towels and bed sheet changes upon
request only to keep our world greener.
There is the usual bathroom amenities as well as minted mouthwash which is a
plus point because most hotels do not provide this. It certainly feels like a
star higher than its rating for this Four Points.
Then
it was time to rest as my head sink into the soft down pillows for the evening…
The
next morning, we woke up later than our usual and headed down to The Eatery for breakfast. Breakfast
turned out better than I expected and there was such a lovely spread which I
will feature in my next dining post of Four
Points By Sheraton Puchong.
After
breakfast, we did a short hotel tour hosted by the management team to check out
the other rooms available as well as the facilities.
The
lobby was spacious and nicely designed as it had its own reception area for
check-ins and the lounge area on the other side for privacy and comfort. By the
reception area, there was a classy I-Spot Business center with Mac computers.
The
lounging area has The Lobby Lounge
with a striking circular cylindrical booth that always seemed to be occupied as
it is a nice hotspot to rest. One can also relax at the Lobby Lounge cleverly
sectioned and filled with lots of plush sofas with bright orange cushions and
warm lighting to offer privacy.
Walking
down further, there is a long blue contemporary bar as well as another booth
where guests can enjoy some R&R moments in the cool area as well as the alfresco
area.
We
headed up to the rooms where we checked out their 12 Executive Suites and their
Deluxe rooms. The Executive Suite features a separate living room area and is
very spacious and indeed lovely. The bathroom is also spacious and offers
pleasurable comfort in space and style.
The
swimming pool at Four Points By Sheraton
Puchong was not as fancy as some other hotels but it does offer an infinity
view of the township. It is also not as big but I happen to think it is
sufficient as this hotel is located in a business area rather than a scenic
vacation area.
There
is a large open deck that is perfect by the pool for special celebratory
functions.
The
fitness center was also located in the same level of the pool as is
surprisingly very spacious and fully equipped with gym equipment so one can
definitely enjoy a solid gym hour before heading to work.
Four Points by Sheraton Puchong has a large Puteri Grand Ballroom as
well as smaller event space of Putera Meeting Rooms catered for corporate
functions as well as private functions and celebratory events. These were
equipped latest audiovisual technology as well. I must say, the high speed WIFI
internet access here is excellent as I was always connected throughout my stay
at this hotel.
The
rest of our stay at Four Points by Sheraton
Puchong was indeed memorable and enjoyable. The hotel offers simplicity and
modern comforts that is definitely good value. It is also located in a
strategic location with shopping malls and many eateries nearby and only 35
minutes to the KLIA airport. We also enjoyed a lovely Weekend Hi-Tea Buffet where kids rule at The Eatery coming right up in my next post so stay tune…
