The Sun, The Sea and A Tour of the
Iconic Resort
For
some reason, my internal alarm clock woke me up around 5.45am that morning.
Maybe it knew I should not miss catching the early sunrise that I hardly ever
see living in the metropolitan city.
And
was I glad I woke up. As soon as I open the door to the balcony, the view of
the wee early hours of the morning was simply mystical. It was quiet, so quiet
that I can hear a pin drop. Nevertheless, I was enchanted at the sight of the
sunrise and its nature’s colors.
I
spent an hour just enjoying this magical sight of colors, feeling blessed at
how beautiful Mother Nature is and how I am able to experience this moment from
my Panorama Pool Villa with Sea View.
I doubt I can ever forget this moment in my life and I don’t think I would want
too anyway…
The
sun rises early and by 7am plus, my balcony view took another turn of colors.
This view is practically postcard perfect and another footprint that will be
with me for a long time to come. My country is beautiful… signing blissfully…
Then
it was time to wake up the little one for breakfast. But not before we had a
quick dip in the pool though.
A quick shower and we waited for our shuttle to Lighthouse Club for our breakfast. For guests staying at the Panorama Pool Villas and Suits, breakfast is served at tableside at Level 2, Wave Dining at the Lighthouse Club.
A quick shower and we waited for our shuttle to Lighthouse Club for our breakfast. For guests staying at the Panorama Pool Villas and Suits, breakfast is served at tableside at Level 2, Wave Dining at the Lighthouse Club.
Wave Dining, set in a colorful contemporary
dining décor, offers modern Western cuisine. During morning, the restaurant
serves breakfast from its seasonal menu and in the evening, the restaurant
serves Chef’s degustation menu as well as a la carte menu from chef’s
specialties.
There
are usually 4 choices of breakfast mains and plenty of other accompaniments
such as assorted bread and pastries that are served with homemade yoghurt,
jams, overnight oats, chia seeds and coconut milk, sago and Pandan panna cotta
along with fresh cold pressed juices, coffee and tea. The healthy and sumptuous
breakfast is available at RM80 nett per pax.
The
homemade Pumpkin Kaya and Blackberry Jam was exceptional so make
sure to ask the wait staff for these.
I
took a look at Something Fishy and
decided that this was it. It’s my kind of savory breakfast that is out of the
norm and sounds utterly delicious. Crab cake with Wasabi Mayonnaise, 63 degree
Egg with Hollandaise on Salted Fish Mash and Salmon Trout Gravlax Bagel, Cream
Cheese, Capers & Red Onion sums up Something Fishy. Love the beautiful crab
cakes and the 63 degree egg with hollandaise sauce because everything tasted so
luscious and flavorful.
My
little one had The Comfy, a hearty
and warming dish of Spinach, Chicken Ham & Cheese Croque Monsieur with
Chicken Chorizo, Ratatouille & Sunny Side Up. Such a cheesy and delicious
breakfast and the spicy chicken chorizo was exceptionally yummy for me since I
had that as the little one find it too spicy for him.
Hubby
had The American Breakfast, another
hearty dish of Grilled Herb Sausage, Cherry Tomatoes with Balsamic Vinegar,
Truffle Scrambled Eggs on Toast and a house made Baked Beans. While everything
was delicious, the house made baked beans stood out for me. I practically
polished off all his baked beans because the robust, spicy and tomato flavors
was superb.
For
those who prefer meatless and healthier breakfast, opt for The Vegan which has Roasted Onions and Potatoes with Truffle,
Barley Risotto with Scrambled Tofu, Chickpea with Cauliflower Salad with Green
Chili Dressing and Baked Beans.
After
a sumptuous breakfast, we set out for a tour of the resort accompanied by the
staff of the resort. Lexis Hibiscus Port
Dickson offers various villas and suites to cater to everyone. Whether you
are opting for a view of the vast spread of greens or the endless sight of blue
sky meets azure sea, there are few choices to cater to your needs and budgets.
The
main lobby at the tower block was already buzzing with much activities and many
are seen strolling around the resort with families and friends. I love how
spacious the lobby is and how the modern design echoed a vibe of calmness with
artistic touches everywhere.
We
started with the main building tower block tour where we first checked out the Sky Pool Villa, a spacious room where
every unit has panoramic sea view. Offering two king beds with the private dip
pool and steam room at the balcony area, the room is bright and spruced up with
colors for much cheeriness.
The
room comes with full bath, rain shower as well as its own powder room. There is
a lounging area with a work desk. This villa is located on the main building,
minimizing walking should you have a guest that is not convenient for long
walks.
One
may ask what can one do at Lexis
Hibiscus. Well, there’s certainly plenty to do if one seeks adventures or
activities of all sorts indoors.
For
adults, there’s LexSpa, located on
the second floor of the main building. If you’re seeking pleasure and comfort
to unwind and sooth out those body aches with a session of spa treatments, this
is it. Available in single or couple room, there are plenty of spa treatments
available to cater to your needs. One can also enjoy the Jacuzzi as well as
full shower facility after your spa treatment. More details here.
Even
little ones get to run around and unleash their energy at Kidz World. Safe and build with little ones in mind, the enclosed
room has little ones enjoying children activities in full force while the
parents get to do their own thing. We love how colorful and fun the room is and
our little fella couldn’t wait to jump on the slides and play there. Kidz World
is located on the second level of the main building. There are also other kids’
activities such as Sand Art, Mug Painting, Face Painting and more. More details
here.
If
the whole clan wishes to sing their hearts out, head over to the Starz Karaoke for lots of singing
action in the sleek and state-of-the-art audio visual equipped Karaoke rooms
that can hold up to 22 pax in a room. Starz Karaoke is located on the second
floor of the main building. More details available here.
Besides
all the above, there’s Gym, Photo Booth
and Tour Desk that offers respective
activities for everyone.
Lexis Hibiscus is also well-known as a great resort
to host meetings, teambuilding as well as private functions such as weddings
and other celebrations. There’s an opulent Hibiscus Grand Ballroom, Sky
Ballroom, Nautica Deck, Boardroom, VIP Room as well as ten smaller meeting
rooms available the main building. More details here.
The
Hibiscus Grand Ballroom, a grandeur
of high ceiling set with modern art of chandeliers that can accommodate up to
450 pax.
The
tallest ballroom in Port Dickson, the Sky
Ballroom is another majestic ballroom with another gorgeous modern light
fixture that amplifies grandeur with its high ceiling and plush décor. Located
on 13th floor of the building, it can host up to 350 pax.
The
main building also has an adult and kid swimming pool as well as children
playground.
Then
we proceed to check out the other villas on the petal and stigma of the hibiscus
with our buggy.
The
Premium Pool Villa is situated at
the hibiscus petal area. The villa also features two king beds with
floor-to-ceiling glass windows that renders a comfortable space, perfect for
relaxing.
We
moved next to the stigma where the Imperial
Suite is located at. The Imperial Suite is beautifully spacious, all full
2,610 sq. ft. Each unit comes with three king size beds in two bedrooms with
attached bathrooms, a deluxe living and dining area as well as a kitchen and
bar. One can opt for the sea view or the fountain view.
The
Imperial Suite also has its own
private long infinity pool in the balcony area. It’s my favorite villa of the
whole lot we viewed simply because of the way the villa is designed as well as
the gorgeous view and space together with the infinity pool. There’s only six
units of this suite if I am not mistaken.
We
saved the best for last and that is the Presidential
Suite. There’s only two of this suite located at the very end of the
stigma. Set in 4,112 sq. ft. of space, the duplex suite has four bedrooms with
ensuite bathrooms, offering privacy for big families or parties. The rooms all
have magnificent views of the sea or fountain with glass panels on the floor to
view the marine life below. One of the master bed room has its own outdoor
Jacuzzi too.
There
are two infinity pools in the balcony area. The expansive living and dining
area is connected to the kitchen and bar and is lavishly spacious. As soon as
one opens the glass door, there is a lovely welcoming breeze in the room as
well as lots of natural lights from its glass panels.
We
heard famous Taiwanese singer and songwriter Jay Chou was just here a few weeks ago too with his family and crew
and stayed at this very Presidential Suite… obviously he has also heard of how
gorgeous this place is.
We
haven’t had the chance to venture into the nearby beach yet but we certainly
could see the beach from one of the villas in the distance. We plan to check
out all the outdoor places tomorrow.
After
the tour, we headed to Roselle Coffee House for a simple buffet lunch. Roselle Coffee House is an all-day
dining outlet serving local and international culinary offerings from breakfast
to lunch and dinner as well as weekend hi-tea. Food from the buffet was
passable but the a la carte menu of pizza was superb. Generous and large, we
enjoyed the pizza a lot.
After
this, we all headed back to our room for a rest. I had a short snooze while my
boys did their own things catching some TV action before jumping in to the dip
private pool…
Male
bonding time with conversations that include Pokemon and some other stuff!
*Stay tune for Part 3 …
