Relish in Traditional Home-Made Yu Sheng
& Wholesome Nian Gao
More
festive feast awaits at Sheraton
Imperial Kuala Lumpur. Head over to Celestial
Court to celebrate the Year of the Rooster and usher in the Lunar New Year
with delightful festive set menus. The New Lunar year calls for bonding time
with family, loved ones as well as friends. There’s no better moment than to
gather for a feast to celebrate the new journey ahead as well as commemorate
the year before.
Going
all out, Chinese restaurant Chef Ho Boon have crafted 4 exclusive prosperity
9-course set menus filled with mouth-watering dishes to tempt all your senses.
From Abundance, Fortune to Auspicious and Luxurious, diners will be savoring
Chef Ho’s signatures in themed with the festivity.
Celestial Court, renowned for Cantonese cuisine,
offers a beautiful elegant ambiance. From the main dining room themed in
Oriental grandeur to the private rooms, the dining experience will further be
elevated by the fine Cantonese cuisine by the culinary team at Celestial Court.
Celestial
Court is offering a solid list of Yee Sang in their set menu as well as a la
carte menu this year. Diners are spoilt for choice with a variety of yee sangs
paired Sliced Abalone, Norwegian Salmon, crispy Soft Shell Crab, Snow Pear,
Jelly Fish and Fresh Fruit served with various fruity dressings. Prices starts
from RM88 and above.
The
Yu Sheng with Norwegian Salmon Fish with
Assorted Pickled Vegetable & Shredded Fresh Fruit Plum Sauce was quite
classic but jazzed up with lots of fresh honeydew and cantaloupe. This version
offers a vibrant freshness and juiciness from the fruits, making it easy to
enjoy. The generous salmon slices are luscious and tasty.
Here’s
to another year filled with abundance of everything good! Lou Ah…
The
next course of Roasted Corn Fed Chicken
with Spicy Onion Sauce was nothing new but definitely scrumptious with its
crisp golden skin and tender meat. The lightly spiced up sauce has just the
right balance of savory, sweet and spice note to make the chook delectable at
every bite.
Chef
Ho takes on a creative approach when it comes to seafood in the set menu. The Fragrant Golden Jin Sha Style Spicy Slipper
Lobster is unusual and superb. The Slipper Lobster is tender and smothered
in chef special Jin Sha style sauce which resembles our classic Kam Heong
except its lighter and more saucy. Needless to say, the sauce is worth licking
for…
Another
dish that looked relatively simple but require skills to cook the scallops and
shrimp well for the dish to shine. The Wok-Fried
Fresh Scallop & Shrimps with Macadamia Nuts & Sweet Bean is
executed with finesse with just the right doneness of the seafood and the
delicate control of flavours. The scallops are so tender and sweet while the
shrimps are bouncy and tasty. Coupled with the crunchy snow peas and nutty
macadamia nuts, the dish is a sure crowd pleaser.
Every
festive feast this season will always include much lavishness and this one is
portrayed in the Braised Abalone Shell
Meat with Scallop & Black Mushroom in Supreme Oyster Sauce. Both
abalone shell slices and scallops crowned plump earthy Shitake mushrooms
braised in rich oyster sauce. The dish is a classic done well and finished with
florets of crunchy broccoli ring.
Celestial
Court offers yet another unusual creation of Seasonal Vegetable with Morel Mushroom Topped with Diced Seafood.
This was one of the prettiest dish this year and it taste even better than just
being pretty at sight. Morel mushrooms are premium ingredient that are not
easily available. Chef Ho managed to cook the morels till tender and aromatic.
These were paired with Hong Kong Kailan covered with a generous prawn, scallop,
crab meat and crab roe sauce. The flavours are superb and the mushrooms go so
well with the greens and seafood sauce.
Dessert
is classic and ends on a sweet note with a delectable old school Pan Fried Traditional Chinese New Year Cake.
In
addition to the Year of the Rooster, Dim Sum Chef, Ken Liew have also created a
special home-made ‘Nian Gao’, shaped as Koi Fish that symbolizes good fortune,
success, prosperity and longevity. It is considered good luck to eat nian gao
during this time, because ‘nian gao’ is a homonym for “higher year”. As such,
eating ‘nian gao’ has the symbolism of raising oneself taller in each coming
year (年年高升). Our special home-made ‘Nian Gao’ is
available in 2 different size package – Twin Koi Fish priced at RM 88 nett per
pack or 1-large Single Koi Fish priced at RM 118 nett per box.
